Disenco Energy - At A Glance

  • Disenco is at the heart of both the energy and carbon footprint debates. Its unique, micro combined heat and power (m-CHP) HomePowerPlant (HPP) appliance can enable home owners and small businesses to cut hundreds of pounds off their energy bills each year, and reduce the carbon footprint of homes and offices by about 70%.

  • More than 27,750 million tonnes of CO2 are dumped into the global environment each year. The bulk of CO2 emissions stem from industrialised and manufacturing nations with homes and small offices accounting for in excess of 30% of the total or about 7,479 million tonnes each year. The Carbon Footprints of these homes and small business can be reduced by at least 52% now. Around 3,900 million tonnes can be eliminated each year by installing Disenco's HomePowerPlant.

  • More than $250 million and 80 man years has been invested in developing Disenco's patented Sterling Engine that drives HPP.

  • Using HPP, all the heating needs of a family and up to 70% of their electricity requirements at peak times can be generated in the home from gas, which is less than one third of the price of electricity. For the first time, energy consumers become energy producers.

  • Users can make money with HPP as additional electricity generated can be exported and sold back to the national grid. Additional electricity generated in the home can be exported to the national grid and when combined with the low cost of electricity generated in the home enables users to recover the incremental cost of their HPP investment in an expected 24 - 48 months with ongoing continual benefit from the reduced energy costs and carbon footprint reduction each year thereafter.

  • The average UK home emits about 6 tonnes of CO2 each year. Fitted with an HPP appliance, it could drop to around 2 tonnes each year. A saving of upto 66%. Putting that into perspective, a home fitted with HPP this decade could be 4 decades ahead of government carbon targets for 2050.

  • Micro combined heat and power technology eliminates the need to build more nuclear power stations to provide alternative energy, or install noisy and inefficient wind turbines in a garden or offshore. Disenco's m-CHP appliance is also a better solution than solar panels from a payback standpoint.

  • HPP is here now having successfully sailed through sustained field trials over the past 15 months under the contract with the Carbon Trust. It delivers what it says on the box – 3kW electricity and 15kW thermal from natural gas. A range of HPP appliances using different power sources like bio-fuels and solar to drive its engine are planned going forward.

  • HPP is being targeted to be sold through utilities for the home and small business replacement market, and installed as standard by builders and developers for new homes and small business enterprises.

  • Disenco is listed on the Toronto Venture Exchange under the ticker DIS. V. One of the most exciting investment opportunities on today’s markets, Disenco is exploring a London AIM listing in late 2008, early 2009.
